Bath salts have resulted in more than a few bad decisions, but apparently swine also makes people do crazy things. ASt. Louis man was slapped with first-degree murder, and armed criminal action charges Monday (Sept. 10) for killing his uncle, over a pork chops debate that turned fatal.
John Cunningham, 43, and his uncle, 44-year-oldLessie E. Lowe, got into an argument over whether or not they were planning to cook pork chops, or pork steaks. Cunnigham thought the food should be called pork steaks, but his maternal uncle disagreed. They got into a physical altercation early Monday and had to be separated by another party.
Still upset, Cunningham went to another room in the home grabbed a gun and shot his uncle. Lowe was later pronounced dead at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
According to Lowe’s brother, L.C. Lowe, he was a “smart young man” who enjoyed fixing cars and doing other repairs. Although L.C. wasn’t home at the time of the shooting, he said that Lowe and Cunnigham were very close and often spent time together.
As it turns out, Cunningham was right about the meat, they really are called pork steaks.
Go figure.
